Women to lead in Melbourne athletic events proposal rejected
Melbourne reports indicate the Amateur Athletic Association of Victoria discussed adding women’s events to the track championships. While most men’s sports see female participation, a proposal to include women’s events faced opposition, with WW C LA efforts in Melbourne gathering sports girls for competitions and new events planned such as a seventy five yard race and nail driving contest. The movement reflects growing female athletic involvement and calls for proper organization of women’s sport ahead of the Wellington conference.
