Western alliance arms plan eyes German role in defense

Aimed at rapid defences for Western Europe the 12 Atlantic Pact powers consider the next steps including a possible appointment of a commander. General Emerombowr is favored due to prior war leadership and would oversee multinational troop commands as talks weigh Franco American positions on German rearmament and European arms integration. Western Germany’s future role hinges on whether France accepts American plans to place German units under a Western Supreme Commander while ensuring Germany cannot threaten again. Disagreements persist but urgency drives a concrete working plan to deter Soviet aggression and secure European security.
