Discovery of Copper Ore Treatment by Mr Curtis at Mount Chal mers
Rockhampton resident Mr A G Curtis, long time tid fill instructor with local naval forces, claims a new process to extract copper from ore or tailings cheaply. Experiments at Messrs Grantannie’s office show copper leaching with hydrochloric acid and water, followed by roasting to precipitate copper, potentially enabling small mines to profit despite distance and ore quality.
