Brisbane March 20. Before any Queensland charitable organisation can appeal for public support it must be registered or granted registration exemption by the Justice Department. Charities currently operating have two months from March 9 to register. After that it will be an offence to appeal unless the charity is named and registered or exempt or the appeal is sanctioned. The Attorney General said the rules are in the Charitable Collections Act of 1952.
