The South Queensland Egg Marketing Board manager Mr C J T Waters said sales were returning to normal. A small surplus was still being pulped but public demand is returning and a seasonal shortage is not expected to last long. A shortage is expected to develop by the end of the month continuing to mid May.
Charters Towers March 7 James Brodie aged 65 was killed by a moving engine near the station. He is believed to have fallen from the platform and was struck by the locomotive, his body found mutilated beside the line.
