Television Experts Tour Pioneer EMS Factory
Delegates from 13 countries, including the International Radio Consultative Committee, visited the Hayes Middlesex EMS factory to study European TV standardization. They observed dual 408 line and 625 line demos, noted BBC use of the Camfax camera, and saw advances enabling Britain 405 line and U S 525 systems, with EMS claiming universal standard capability and a mobile relay unit for wide range. The visit included plans to test color TV in St Thomas Hospital and to witness further demonstrations in Europe.

Having a Crack at the Roo Hunters in NSW Desert
In a wild tale from Deniliquin area roosport men Jobo Trewartha and Robertson chase kangaroos across red plains in a car run dry, sharing a beer to cool a overheated radiator. After a night under shade with 110 degree heat, they’re rescued by a ration manager and continue a brisk hunt, swapping tips on gear, tracking, and the lure of the sport.

Coal Tribunal Warns Miners on Strikes in Sydney
Sydney June 0 A Coal Industry Tribunal led by Dr FB Gallagher warned miners that a new strike would not be tolerated and could lead to longer penalties than last year. Mr Williams urged restraint while the federation contested demand for stricter annual leave rules and holiday pay tied to consecutive workdays. The Joint Coal Board opposed the claims as production rose in New South Wales. The hearing continues next week with possible enforcement penalties of up to 1000 pounds for defying orders.
