Sugar Industry Report Details Cane Planting North Queensland
The General Sugar Bureau notes cane prospects in the Bowen Proserpine and Herbert River districts. Planting starts in April with varieties such as D133 1edting 245 and H.Q. 426 showing health. Heavy rains delay field work but lime, green manuring, and limited disease keep outlook favorable with projected harvest near 60 000 tons in 1921 and about 220 000 tons near Ingham.
