Babinda Quiet Weekend Ushers In New Year
Babinda reports a quiet weekend as the New Year begins amid hot, dry weather. A CWA dance at Miriwinal Ball featured Fallon’s orchestra and euchre. The Boost binds branch met, electing Mrs Maizey as president. Nurses at Babinda District Hospital passed exams, and a baby’s cot quilt donated to the ACF was won by Miss Evan. Overhaul work at the mill resumes January 10 and the January Fire Brigade Board meeting discussed post war works planning and mutual interest drills.
