Christmas Festival Night in Brisbane Brings Holiday Cheer
A crowded Hibernian Hall hosted a Boxing Night festival with dances, songs, and vaudeville acts. Corporal Jean Blaio, AAMWS, married Eric Carlson from the Sth Division in Brisbane on December 18. Nancy Carbery wowed the crowd with her singing while Gwen Falmore also impressed. Clare Grary and Dariner won the novelty prize. Maxers provided music with Mae Berwick and Sgt. Keith MacDonald on piano and drums.

Herbertown Day Dance Brims With Joyful New Year Cheer
Herbertton January 2 The annual Day dance by the Catholic Church drew a large happy crowd at Shire Hall on Monday. Food music and novelties made the evening a success with a perfect band and a lively crowd. Mrs Bert Kane and Miss Jones sang with appreciation. At midnight the company sang Auld Lang Syne as good wishes were exchanged. The event closed about 1230 with Mesdames Francis and G Eaton accompanying guests home.
