Malanda Shire Council votes to borrow for roads and bridge
At the Malanda Shire Office on Saturday the council approved borrowing £1000 to build roads and a culvert and suspension bridge in Divisions 1 and 3. The poll of Division 3 ratepayers supported the loan 128 to 15, while amendments to defer the loan failed. The retiring chairman Dr Williams reflected on the year and welcomed new members, and the meeting covered committees, finances, soldier rates, and road works across divisions.
