Local Ambulance Brigade and Agricultural Society Annual Meetings
The annual Ambulance Brigade meeting at the ambulance quarters elected a new committee and auditors for the year. The agricultural society meeting drew a small attendance and laments business neglect by local merchants while detailing officers and a patriotic fund contribution. The Johnstone River Turf Club held its annual meeting at the Imperial Hotel with aims for a strong year ahead. Weather notes describe a damaging cyclone threat in Innisfail last Monday and the community’s need for local employment, sugar mills, and a new Johnstone Creek Suppliers Association formed to aid regional activity.
