Pay as you sail insurance plan debated abroad
A Cairns letter to the editor criticizes the idea of a pay as you sail insurance plan for ships, noting British and Dominion interest and the impact on small companies and crews. The piece contrasts this with a broader critique of public obsession with sport and the Ashes. It references international discussions at a shipping conference and mentions ship owners seeking a levy to cover idle ships.
