Banham Honored At Babinda Farewell Smoke Concert
A public farewell for W. A. Banham at the State Hotel Babinda drew about 30 attendees. W. M. Simmonds presided and led loyal toasts while speakers praised Banham’s 21 years in the Post Office Service and his Comm unity service. Banham thanked the gathering, received a shaving outfit and notes, and extended best wishes for his and Mrs. Banham’s health and happiness. The event featured toasts to the Sugar Industry, Babinda, Public Institutions, Postal Department, Ladies, and the Press, with songs and recitations closing with Auld Lang Syne.
