Halos Are Hard to Wear in Religion and Life
The piece argues saints are defined by deeds and piety, notes St Paul’s vision, and suggests modern life makes halo wearing rarer. It highlights Florence Nightingale, Captain Oates, and Dickens’ Sydney Carton as rare examples, while most struggle with vanity and social pressures. The author weighs who earns recognition and how society distributes halos today.
