Licensing Prosecution for Sunday Liquor Sale at Gordonvale

Kate Mathews a licensee of the Molgrave Hotel Gordonvale faced charges for keeping her house open for sale of liquor on Sunday August 15. Police and Senior-Sergeant Lawrence testified. Mathews denied selling whisky or keeping a bar open on the contested night. Evidence described a visit by police, a whisky bottle, and the licensee’s husband and staff, with the magistrate awaiting further directions.

Disobedience Case Baffles Mainten ance Court

In Caras Summons Court at Innisfail Prank Graham faced two cases arising from a maintenance order. Judge Simpson began the hearing with Edward John Parker for CTS and C. Hamlyn-Harris for the defense. Graham, already summoned for nonpayment, was committed to prison for seven days for arrears and court costs after failing to comply with the order dated July 9.

Conviction Recorded in Industrial Court Case

A prosecution for an alloyed hoeeoh plam award was heard before Mr Dean PME in the industrial Slagtes trade’s Court. Three mornings were taken as the Metropolitan Water and Sewerrer Finca, represented by their union, engaged two men. The court heard the tense case with a verdict pending an appeal to the Pall Coney Been of the Ariitration Court.
