James Craig and Parnell Blake headline a feature segment including cartoons shorts and newsreels at the Omaha venue. The program highlights local and period entertainment with ongoing screenings and previews.
A garbled entertainment note references Theanes Palace and various performers and venues. It mentions theatres, rosters, and upcoming shows, with scattered names and place hints, reflecting a fragmented OCR reading of a dramatic entertainment listing. Some proper nouns appear as Theanes Palace, MGA, and West, amid disrupted text.
The fragment details Florence Maynly Cooper and Alexander Charles Craik engagement announcements, and notes on local visits by Mr Cleeve Climan and officials discussing referendum proposals. It also covers a fortnightly bridge afternoon at Memorial Home with numerous attendees, a social dance program, and plans for community events and prizes.
The readable text shows scattered fragments including names such as Maniond, Caras, Melcher, Teal, and Us can Win. It resembles an OCR scrape with garbled words and odd capitalization, lacking a coherent event or report to summarize meaningfully.
The period piece highlights Australian women’s wartime roles and postwar hopes. It urges unity, planning for a just peace, and securing work and production for returning service members. Mentioned leaders include Curtin, with calls for a referendum to ensure national stability and prosperity.
A vivid reminiscence of a recent Red Cross club gathering with dances, decorations, and entertainment. Joyful faces greeted reopening of doors and a lively lounge scene. The account mentions Mrs Hodgen’s musical numbers, Oklahoma tunes, and plans for next week’s program at Mulgrave Central Mil Co Gordonale.
Tonight features a color variety show presented by Mrs Globe with badminton ping-pong and card games. Guests include Hodgen and Pine Dulcie. Heather and Walter Pitt enter. Friday seat available. Novelty entertainment in the intervals.
The page lists diverse church activities and services across Gordonvale and surrounding communities. It mentions Holy Communion schedules, Sunday services, and weekday services at St Peters and nearby parishes, with notes on confirmlings and church group meetings. Additional lines reference Gordonvale Presbyterian and Methodist services, Saints’ St Pau’s Greenvale, and Salvation Army events with evening assemblies and area outreach.
The yearly general meeting of the club is scheduled for Wednesday night in the cub segment. Members are urged to attend as the balance of activities from the past year will be reviewed and committees will meet to discuss the year ahead.
An ad touts Double D Ointment as a quick healing antiseptic for children's cuts and sores. It highlights added eucalyptus for antiseptic properties and rapid healing, urging readers to keep eight jars in the medicine chest.
