A grateful patient from Gympie describes a grim prognosis of weeks to live and credits a local doctor with reversing his illness. He recounts being underground mine manager prior to treatment, recovering enough to work and support his wife and family despite severe illness and fatal outcomes for others with similar conditions.
The Malanda area reports Red Cross Day receipts and expenditures including ticket sales and donations totaling and lists many local donors and volunteers. Community members like Prof. Gurr and family, Miss Leighton, Miss E. Mahon, Miss Green, Miss Martin, and J. Hanrahan are noted for organizing, selling, and contributing items and goods.
