Monthly Meeting of Eacham Shire Council
The ordinary monthly meeting at Malanda heard the full council with Chairman Dr. Heale and members Williams Campbell Griffiths Clark Dobson Povideen Henmtren and Downs plus Overseer A W Jones and Clerk D Brown. Rates were assessed with a general rate for No 1 Division and 2 for No 2 Division discussed. No 3 adjourned to June. A resident urged repairs on the Johnstone road near Maeren’s. the council agreed to a £10 local subscription plus up to £10 from council for immediate work and to sell timber on the road to help fund drainage and culverts. An alternative route from Bottles to Clark's road was also discussed with a potential road exchange. overseer to report.
