A government grant up to 1500 pounds was approved for Booroa Shire Council toward flood damage repairs costing 5020 pounds. State Member Fred J. Cahill announced the offer, with conditions the council cover the remainder and certain minor items be funded locally.
Wesley Wright died on the Bendemine Road while en route to Yass Hospital after a young horse bolted in a sulky on Glenlospan property. His cousin Harvey Wright survived with minor injuries. An inquiry will be held by the Yass District Coroner. Funeral held at Boorowa with many tributes.
Local doctors support free medicine for patients but oppose the method. They argue doctors must choose prescriptions from the Commonwealth Formulary, while many cases require medicines not listed. They say government form duplications add clerical work and limit physicians to what is deemed adequate rather than what is best for treatment.
Local fundraising supports a temporary Boorowa Ex-servicemen Club in the former Bourke billiard saloon. The committee runs a billiard room with three tables and a reading and card room offering hot and cold drinks from 10 am to 10 pm daily. Membership is £1 1s, with visiting ex-servicemen welcome as honorary members.

Police official Sergi G. A. Malone urged motorists and cyclists to heed traffic laws. He warned that ignorance or defiance would prompt prosecutions. He cited improper parking bicycle riding on footpaths cycling without lights and bicycles parked against shop windows. He noted it is also an offence to wheel a bicycle on a footpath and called for action if abuses continue. Dangerous street conversations were also flagged for police attention.
Boorowa Rugby League footballers will enter a £60 knockout contest at Culcairn on Easter Monday. Sixteen players depart Boorowa by car on Sunday morning, meet Tumut in the afternoon, then proceed to Culcairn where accommodation is arranged for the party.

The new company led by Sir Harry Moxom plans a four week start for operations at the Frogmore Wolfram and Scheelite mine. They have inspected the site and aim to deepen the main shaft from 280 400 feet by a further 200 feet to access richer ore. An entirely new up to date processing plant is being installed.

The Phoenix Wolfram Mine, idle four years, is set to reopen in five weeks with many jobs promised. The mine will use Wolfram and sheetlite in steel hardening and copper wire production before resuming operations under the former Phoenix Wolfram Ltd. name.

The Federal Cricket Club hosts a ball at the Guild Hall on June 18 with entertainment from the Groomchasers and a supper. Trophies won during the season will be presented that night.
A special sheep sale is planned at Binalong on June 15 with good quality stock listed for auction. Auctioneers Goldebrough Mort and Co Ltd and Yor and KR Roche (Binalong) will conduct the sale.

A street stall run by C U 5 S A realised forty pounds for a bursary. Winners included Turkey donated by Mrs C Gorham and others like Mr T Costellodin and Mrs H Smith with trophies and a weight guessing sheep won by Mr W Sheather for 1254 she. The correct weight was 126 lbs. Members express thanks to all responsible.
An outstanding profit of £150 is expected from the Collo Young Peoples' Club Ball held Boorowa last Friday night. The takings amounted to £122 1s. 0d. Honorary secretary Maureen Misa and members deserve commendation for their efforts which were responsible for its success.
Boorowa hosts a special sheep sale on Tuesday June 22 with auctioneers W M Dwyer Co and Son and Badgery Ltd. Already 6000 sheep listed and entries invited.
The annual merino sale opened in Sydney with a ram selling for 1 700 guineas to Mr. Hilton Kelly of Jesmondene Narrawa. George Falkner of Haddon Warren offered the special stud ram who went to Mr. Kelly’s Bullagreen Stud.
