Diggers Protest at Burst Special Meeting

At a Railway and Tramway Returners Association meeting, President J K Mitchell urged a protest against the six month prison farm sentence of John Mullavey, son of a returned soldier. He said the youth tramped for work seeking a fair chance and that foreign and Australian youths face unequal treatment. Members agreed to protest and urge the minister of justice to review Mullavey’s case, with letters to be sent and the matter raised in Parliament.
