Councillor T Perceval was re elected Shire President at Monday's council meeting. Bobbin declined the position after nomination. A presidential allowance of L100 for the coming term was fixed, payable in monthly installments. Deputy President election saw Gorham elected after Bobbin's nomination. Council and staff were hosted to morning tea and lunch after the meeting.
Mr and Mrs Johnson and family sincerely thank all relatives and friends for letters, cards, and telegrams during our bereavement. We also thank Mr Armstrong for his kindness and ask you to accept our personal gratitude.

Boorowa Central School held a festive break up at the Guild Hall on a Friday afternoon. Students sang Christmas carols, performed plays and dances, and showcased handicrafts sold by pupils. Santa distributed gifts as prize lists and thanks to staff and generous supporters were read aloud.
O Steele manager of Boorowa silos received a wire from L Harrison Wheat Commissioner stating trucks will be ordered next week with railways placing everything possible. The Roorana silo closed Tuesday morning after loading 35 000 bushels.
A severe Saturday bushfire swept Tiverton and surrounding districts burning 5000 moves of land and threatening homesteads. It destroyed sheep and wheat stores, damaged fencing and pasture, and cut communications. Fire brigades from multiple towns, aided by short wave radio, battled the blaze as police and volunteers worked to protect property and aid affected settlers.
The article notes a local range practice day last Sunday with Dr C b Gite leading and several shooters like Lloyd Maxon EA Dowie and Colin Wright posting solid scores. The death occurred of Mrs Mary Anne Croker formerly a well respected resident of Rigby at the age of 72. The funeral took place at Maby on Friday. Further particulars will appear in the next issue.

Nancy Wiles, pupil at Young High School, achieves 72 percent and tops her class with strong scores in English History Maths Science and Geography. Nancy Waynie from Hoorewa Central School wins a bursary enabling a 40 pound yearly town allowance for three years. Marcia Hillen of Campbell Street visits with Widewirewa. Mr Nell Steibler buys Lewrmont store. Mr James Hew of Waterhide Plaza to be treated at Boorowa District Hospital then Sydney for further care. Mr Cobill MLA tours Young Electorate, cleaning up matters before holidays. Boorowa Shire President Dr Perceval extends greetings ahead of Monday council meeting.
Boorowa Shire Council held its 12th night session with routine agenda items discussed. Officials reviewed local matters and prepared actions for upcoming issues in Boorowa.
