Last Saturday before the first match of the season Gilbert Roach was made a life member of the Terowie Cricket Club. Roach first played for Terowie in 1910 and has long been one of the club’s outstanding players. He rejoined the side for the game against Yongala and is well known to Burra residents from earlier Burra teams.
The third Tintinara race saw delays as pigeons missed the expected return time. Birds released at 12:30 pm flew 168 miles in 3 hours 48 minutes, with F. Brandt first at 1 297 yards per minute and A. Swinson second. The Burra Club plans another Tintinara race next Saturday and one from Wolseley the following week.
