Splendid Show of Flowers at Burra North
The Redruth Ladies' Guild sponsored a Flower Show at the Redruth Memorial Hall on Wednesday September 29. Entrants filled 126 blooms across two long rows, with a lavish mauve and lilac stage display and numerous more crafts on view. The Mayoress Mrs Marston opened the event, praising the entries and arrangements, while the cookery table drew admiration for pastries, scones, and cakes.

Goldsbrough Mort & Co Ltd report a subdued Burra market with dry conditions curbing demand. Yarding consisted of well conditioned young sheep and breeders, but buyers were cautious and values slipped modestly from late rates.
