Big Elder, Smith & Co Limited report a local market last Friday with more than advertised sheep submitted. Buyers from Victoria and other regions attended as prices held firm with keen competition on young sheep. Yard ing included local drafts and excellent quality lambs with about 16 183 sheep sold from a total yarding of 19 460.

The current automatic belt is considered dangerous but will not be removed with the stop sign. Several past accidents have occurred at the crossing and a man was killed on 15 April this year when a tractor was involved.
