Land Settlement Progress for Ex-Servicemen Revealed
Minister Hincks reports government land purchases totaling 180,038 acres in South East plus Eyre Peninsula and Loxton areas. Plans focus on dairying, sheep, mixed farming, and fruit, with homes via the South Australia Housing Trust and 105 houses under contract. Development aims include fencing material access, Loxton Irrigation progress, and potential 400,000 acre drainage studies by a parliamentary committee. Land readying and inspections under the Land Development Executive proceed amid material shortages.

Burra Town Council Minutes Report November Meeting
The Burra Town Council held its regular meeting in the Council Chambers on a Monday evening in November. The Mayor and several councillors discussed Ambulance shed readiness, hospital depot storage, work in Jus Vee Lane, staff pay increases, shrub removal near the hospital, and plans for a petrol depot on allotment 417. Finance items covered higher clerical costs, government grants reliance, and outstanding wires as part of the council’s budget, with road and cemetery work reviewed and the main road judged the worst between Burra and Adelaide.
