Mt Bryan East Methodist Church held Anniversary services with Rev C L Noske preaching two sermons to good crowds. Hallett choir directed by George Bald and organist Aud rey Miller led celebrations with several anthems. A social evening followed with items, recitations, duets, and community singing, a church supper, and thanks from the Church Committee. Burra Council Eyes State Bank Loan for Public Pool
At a Burra Town Council meeting the Clerk reported a letter from Mr McDonald MP noting limited council interest in a state commonwealth loan scheme. The Premier would close the scheme on October 18, and the Council planned to apply promptly to access two thirds of interest and sinking fund from the Government and Bank. The Council discussed site selection, tenders, and building approach. The Mayor and Cr Dow moved to proceed with a £400 loan application, with Dr Worth and Mr Kellaway backing rapid action and notifying the Savings Bank of council steps. The hydraulic engineer offered cheap water rates and the council explored cost-saving building methods, including day-work to avoid full tenders.

The Burra Rifle Club report covers the Pine Valley Trophy stage fired at 800 and 900 yards with eight shots at each range. E R Pexton won with top bullseye 38 at 800 yards, followed by E C Collins and F E Hopkins. wind and mirage challenged shooters. The next stage is planned for November 18 with B C Collins in charge.
