Agriculture Report Sparks Districts For Strong Start
The Department of Agriculture notes excellent rains in the latter half of the month, with recordings over an inch in many centers. Mild temperatures followed, pastures and lucerne thrived, annual grasses and subterranean clover surged, and dry pasture residue aided quick establishment for livestock. Farmers shifted from hay feeding as cross growth began, oats remain in use, and early lambing indicates a strong winter outlook for livestock and dairy stock. Spring sowing and fallow preparation advance as barley and oats crops are readied.
