Australian Red Cross Society faces long term funding strain
The Australian Red Cross Society warns its peacetime and war relief work costs exceed income by about £20,000, draining reserves by roughly £80,000 yearly. Ex servicemen hospital care costs £7,000 annually, social reestablishment £5,000, hospitals and convalescent homes £16,000, plus £150,000 offered to government for a hospital. Reserve funds may last around 12 years, extending support needs for older veterans.
