Annual Meeting of Burra School Welfare Club
The tenth Annual Meeting of the Burra School Welfare Club was held in the Burra Behoot Assembly Room on Tuesday March 4. Mrs Jenttison presided and welcomed new members. The treasurer Mrs Pearce reported a balance of £119 6s 1d and £8 10s 6d in War Savings Stamps. Secretary Mrs Trueman noted 49 members, improved average attendance, and ongoing fund-raising from trading tables and tea duties. Activities included adding books to the school library, a £1 yearly library subscription, and a film on Australian libraries. A September meeting featured librarian Mrs Biddle-Advisory speaking on modernising libraries, with book selections shown by Mrs Riddle. A September 28 Pet Show at Burra North Playgrounds raised funds for two new tennis courts. a £137 subsidy brought the total to £207 for the scheme. UNRRA clothing donations, new football and basketball purchases, a refilled first-aid kit, and £7 in donations to school funds were recorded. A Christmas parcel program for three Burra boys in Mugul Reformatory was organized, and the Christmas break-up party on December 16 drew support from parents and friends. Members consistently assisted in club activities and events.

Bride’s Wedding At Home Of Parents
Lucky Horee sh o e was hung on her arm by Trevor Buckett. An informal reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents with immediate relatives from both families present.
