The Booborowie CWA celebrated its first birthday on Thursday 10 June with a large gathering from Mt. Bryan Spalding and Leighton. Mrs J Drew opened the program with Song of Australia and a recital of The Creed. Miss Jean Michael of Hilltown spoke on her travels and displayed lace and a supper cloth. A birthday cake, judging of a chocolate fondant and a trading table fundraiser concluded a pleasant afternoon. The annual branch meeting will be held on July 1.

Preparations for the Autumn Butra Show on October 9 proceed with new electricity poles donated by Mr Robert Steele and erected by Society helpers. The ring centre will feature a side-show street, and holes for posts were gifted. The catalogue is updated and five secretaries will be ready to print. Advertisers are urged to submit needs for the catalogue. Ring events reduced to align with other societies. The centre pavilion has been overhauled by Mr BR Puss and will impress exhibitors in Floral and Pancy Work. Special prizes are donated for the catalogue, while main hall repairs benefit Lunsheen Patrons. Ceiling repaired by Mr Fuss and spray-painted by Mr Carl Pearce. A new tank for the hall has been erected. Prize card and ribbon fixtures to be placed above the verdé in the sheep pavilions, avoiding yard placement. Some northern societies plan higher admission, but no increases will be imposed this year due to reliance on advertisers and exhibitors.
