Burra Town Council Meeting Notes June 2

The Burra Town Council met in the Council Chambers on Monday evening 2 June. Attendance included His Worship the Mayor H. J. B. Jenison and councillors Kellaway, Baulderstone, Reed, Lee and Carpenter with Woollacher absent. Topics covered include fire brigade funding, brush fence disputes, bridge works near Bon Accord Hotel, Victoria Park improvements, a potential ratepayer meeting, and tender inspections for Town Hall Cottage repairs.

Public Works and Tree Maintenance Proceedings

The council discussed painting and repairs. Dr Kellaway moved and carried actions to remove a broken bough opposite Mr Sid Scroop, cut Bathurst Burr in the creek, trim pines in the reserve, prune trees to Railway Station, and inspect a view-obscuring tree near McBride. The Flamethrower was deemed a failure. agents to be notified. Two trees near Bridge Terrace to be removed and replaced by Currajongs. Abstract of accounts read. ratepayers meeting set for 30 June.
