Burra Rifle Club Holds Annual Meeting and Trophy Awards
The Burra Rifle Club held a large annual meeting in the RSL Rooms with trophies for last season presented by Mayor H. J. B. Jenkinson. Captain E C Collins led the meeting, praised members including J E Pearce and M Marston for range repairs and improved scores, and noted a 75 member roster with 56 financial. The club reported six years in recess and outlined early 1940s rebuilding efforts and support from Burra residents.

Burra Show Date Set for October 11 1947
Burra Burra Show Incorporated announced at a General Committee Meeting that the Northern Agricultural Societies Association has set the show date for Saturday October 11 1947. The programme spread updated with revised classes and largely improved prize money aiming to attract entrants. A Finance Committee meeting was scheduled for Friday at 7 30 PM to discuss relocating the show grounds to the Burra Racecourse.

Burra Copper Mine Property Sells at Land Sale
Messrs Elder Smith and Co offered the Burra Copper Mine property held by A J and P A McBride at a land sale. Bidding was dull. the property paused at £1220 and was later bought by Mr T H Willis. The 286 acre site changed hands while adjacent farming property on the estate of H F Wright drew no bids.

In perfect conditions a large crowd watched Hallett beat Burra by 20 points. J Murphy starred with multiple goals as Hallett led from the first quarter, extending their advantage through the third. Burra fought back in spots but could not overcome the visitors, with final quarter efforts falling short.
