Burra Riflemen Conclude Eleventh BE Trophy Shoot
Saturday conditions were easy as Burra Riflemen fired the eleventh BE Trophy at 500 and 700 yards. New heavy barrels improved accuracy but strange windage at 700 yards caused high shots, possibly due to a thunderstorm humidity. Darrell Field led with 238 in the first round, while Pat Hogan struggled at 700 yards. Next Saturday marks the twelfth stage for the H C Collins trophy over a double 300 yards, final event of 1947.
