At a meeting on Monday 16 August 1954 a general rate of sixty pence in the pound was set for all rateable property with exemptions for certain assessments. A differential rate of thirty nine pence in the pound applied to Ward assessments 132 and 14 for North Ward 12 for East Ward and 18 for West Ward.
