Burra Rifle Club Championship 1936-37 Winner Anghey
The Burra Rifle Club completed its 1936-37 Championship with A C Anghey winning the title after a tied last stage on 10 April across 900 yards with 10 shots. I Byles was runner up as two members receive the donated trophies. E R Peston won the handicap championship, with R J Kellock second. The season nears its end with five remaining matches and the Pine Valley Trophy next on 17 April under T Cornelius’s supervision.

The Burra Basketball Association met in the Lodge Room of the Burra Institute with strong attendance. Officers were elected with Ratcliffe as President and Chairman, Jennings as Secretary and Treasurer, and new committees formed. plans include four men’s teams and two ladies’ teams, a practice match on 20 April, a match program starting 27 April, a dance on 28 April, and trophies awarded for Most Gentlemanly, Most Ladylike, Goaltrower, and Most Improved Player.
