A tropical downpour floods Southern California towns with eight inches of rain in thirty hours. Streets and streets flooded. lives saved as cars stuck, residents evacuated to trees and rescuers ferry them from homes amid rising water and damage to orchards and property.
Miss M Myatt returned Monday after a month's holiday in Perth with Mrs H H Cobbs. Etta Stewart retired from a holiday at Cottesloe on Monday. Mrs B O'Driscoll's friends rejoice she is home from Bunbury hospital but recovery will take time. Mr Gibbs won the tennis tournament at Harvey. A concert is planned in Harvey in March with Miss Roesner working hard for a great success.
The Rev. Father Faher of Yauloop is appointed assistant to Dean Reilly of Kalzoorlie and will celebrate a farewell service tomorrow. He will be succeeded at Yarlaapy by the Rev. B. McCabe of Subview. Also noted is a baby arrival for Mrs C. Re Sharyes and Nellie Sharje’s family leaving Bunbury on Monday express, while Elin Withers and Angw M Campbell plan a wedding at the Pro Cathedral. Mr and Mrs Harley Wright departed Bunbury after a holiday stay.
