Elsinore on May 30 reports two Ruffian ships of the SHBG each with 74 guns a pair of frigates and a cutter set sail for the Cattegat to fetch the Ruffian man of war that wintered in Norway. In Rome on June 5 Count Caghio stro is said to have arrived and resides in a fine dwelling, presenting himself as very old.
In Dustin-Castre June 20 a patent under the Great Seal appoints John Fitzgubon to succeed James Viscount Lifford as Chancellor and Keeper of the Great Seal. He was sworn before the Lord Lieutenant and given custody of the Seal.
In the House of Lords on Friday June 26 Earl Stanhope moved to read the Poor Bill a second time to protect provident funds for workers in inferior occupations from misappropriation. The Chancellor urged broader aims and greater perfection, the bill was read a second time and ordered to be committed for Wednesday fortnight.
The Royal Family dined in public view and joined crowds in songs, then toured with an adoring train as the Duke of Gloucester’s Lodge at Lyndhurst displays Deer-horns and Rufus relics. An inscription marks the oak said to have borne the fatal arrow. Married notices and obituaries follow, including James Denyer and Arthur Baynes.
