Siege at Gibraltar described as decisive assault
From the London Gazette of December 29 1781 a report from Gibraltar details a coordinated night assault by British forces against enemy works. Brigadier General Ross led the operation with Dachenhausen Hugo Trig and Maxwell, seamen Campbell and Muckle supporting, mortars and cannon destroyed enemy batteries and magazines, with minimal British casualties.
