Maprio reports from Cadiz dated the 16th ce instant that the Sainte Florentine with 44 guns the Speke Brigete and the Sainte Casilde each of 40 guns entered the Bay to form a fleet of evolution under Admiral Langara. Bonn April 28 a fire at Meckenheim three leagues from here consumed 118 houses. two children perished and many cattle were burnt.

Magistrate's Order Leads to Leeds Confession Scene

A woman, sent to Leeds after a settlement quarrel, returned to receive a messenger. She was recaptured and, exclaiming her son’s confession, whipped through Leeds. She was later sent to her birthplace, witnessed her son’s execution, and collected over four pounds for burial but soon fled with the money, before spending it on Rimdying speeches.

Oxford Easter investitures appoint proctors at university

COUNTRY NEWS, Oxford announces on Easter Wednesday the investiture of the Rev Henry Smith of Queen's and the Rev Rd Vivian of Exeter as proctors for the ending year. Proctors named include Isaac Monkhouse and Hutchinson of Queen's and Hatch and Demainbray of Exeter. Also noted is the arrest of Charles Walter Wyatt brought from New Priniton Clerkenwell London on charges of feloniously detaining letters from Witney postal duties containing bills of exchange.
