Plane strikes crowd on Yamba beach injuring several

A small passenger plane taxied into a crowd of about 500 holidaymakers on Yamba beach near the Clarence River. Three people were struck and a 15 year old boy was seriously hurt. A Brisbane girl aged 12 was also hit by a wing in Coolangatta. A car capsized near Mullumbimby, injuring six Brisbane residents en route to Sydney. Police and aviation officials investigated.
