Unusual Function Highlights Coal and Agriculture Talks at Manjimup
A Manjimup committee met in Perth on April 28–29 to press Premier McLarty and Minister Parker on coal transport and sea shipment options from Bunbury to Fremantle, Geraldton and Esperance. They urged rail congestion review, deeper coal field surveys, and possible trucking in emergencies, while also discussing forestry land use and agricultural release near Tutunup and Muja Flats. The group agreed to attend the South-West Conference in Collie and plan a Margaret River visit in June.
