Bridgetown Exhibition Opens With Vintage Lace Display
The Bridgetown exhibition showcased an antique section featuring a rare hundred year old lace as a highlight. Leaders Mrs Faithful and Mrs Kirk, with Mrs Sykes opening remarks, highlighted community efforts and wartime support while prizewinners in Sections A to F were announced and afternoon teas served.

Who Will Be New Road Board Chairman
At the Bridge town Road Board meeting the first for the new board, nominations for chairman were split four votes each for H Moore with E C Hester and J S Bagshaw. Temporary chairman M Scott was elected to proceed, with M Scott also named vice-chairman after F Willmott declined. The group planned to await ministerial decision on the chair and discussed trucking yard costs and representation for Greenbushes.

In Nelson district polls on Saturday retiring member W. B. Mann led with 293 votes, facing Labour candidate T. Kasteott who secured 172 and Independent J. Johnstone with 93 while an informal tally stood at 7. Manjimup Road Board meets Saturday as new board year begins with two new members A. E. Hodgson and others elected in a triangular race.
