Health Inspector Rejected as Local Football Injury Stirs Debate

At Bridgetown Oval last Sunday a local half back Kevin Woodthorpe was knocked unconscious in a tussle between Warrior and Nannup players. He recovered in dressing sheds and later diagnosed with a concussion requiring rest. The Road Board opposes a full time health officer, preferring periodic visits by a Perth officer funded by a government bill to be tested against cost. Other districts joined Bridgetown in rejecting a joint Health Inspector role, proposing government provision with per district charges instead.
