A pretty wedding solemnised by Rev E H Strugwell at the Church of England Bridgetown on Tuesday afternoon at 2 80 o'clock between Sophia Evans and T Arthur Lysam. The bride wore navy cloque trimmed with burgundy and carried roses. bridesmaid Daisy Buegge wore delphinium blue satin and had a bouquet of vases and maiden hair fern. The best man was Les Reid. After the ceremony the party gathered at Mrs G Maslin’s home for refreshments before leaving for their honeymoon.

The death of Mother Mary Brigid of the Convent of Mercy Bunbury occurred at 3 am after a long illness. She was 75, born in County Cavan Island, and arrived in V A about 50 years ago, well known in Bridgetown. Funeral 9:20 am at Bunbury tomorrow. John Robert Young died at undget own Hospital on June 25 aged 60 after illness. He was born in London and moved to the state 27 years ago. remains laid in Bridgetown Church of England cemetery. Red Cross Card Party At Bridgetown Fun Night

Bridgetown Red Cross Society held a card party in the Lesser Hall on Monday evening with good attendance despite weather. E Robbott's won the contract bridge while Miss Williams secured the hidden number in auction bridge. Bridgetown Schoolboys to Host Warren Team Carnival Match

Bridgetown schoolboys meet a Warren schools team this Saturday at 2 30 pm on the Bridgetown oval. It will be a train watch of the two carnival sides and a silver coin collection will be taken. Donations to help send Bridgetown boys away are welcome by the school.

Arbor Day Observance Deferred to August

The Parents and Citizens Association reports Arbor Day observance will be moved from July 7 to early August. The Road Board will cooperate in a planned tree planting scheme with students, continuing its policy of beautifying the town and fostering future citizen involvement in maintaining charm.
