At a Bridgetown board meeting two members spoke strongly about infantile paralysis. Chairman Malcolm Scott opposed sending country children home and urged quick precautionary actions. Councillor Colin Scott called for immediate school bus disinfection and swift inquiries.

Moyes Elected After Nomination Stalemate at Board Meeting

At the Vita board meeting two representatives held the post. Despite many nominations no one accepted the chair. Mr Moyes was eventually elected after a vice-chairman cited ineligibility under section 134 due to hospital food supply duties.

Ewing Trophy Golf Sees Record Qualifier Field

The Ewing trophy qualifying round drew 33 players the largest in years though fewer than the prewar 45. Winners were F&F BE. Tlester in A grade and J. Goyder in B. Scores featured J. Goyder 80 20 04 and F&BE. Tlester 77 10 67 with many competitors listed. first round matchups follow next Saturday.

Ground layout considered for trotting track and football field

Survey of the Lower Agricultural Society ground discusses resuming work on the orchard area and a corridor between bank and fence for a potential trotting track and football field. Mr Minchin presented technical data. block offered to the board at £200. A road board meeting is planned in about a fortnight.

Centrals secured the double by winning the grade fixture with 12 goals 10 points to Nannup 6 goals 4 points. Rovers B beat Warriors B 8 10 to 4 4. Centrals 16 11 defeated Nannup 6 10. Balingup 26 13 defeated Boyup Brook 9 7. Rovers 12 11 beat Warriors 6 20.

Bridgetown P. and C. Drive to Grow Membership

The Bridgetown Parents and Citizens Association met at the C.W.A. Rooms on Monday night and agreed to recruit as many new members as possible. The group aims to strengthen its finances with a concerted expansion, installing new president H. W. Scriven and new secretary Mrs. T. Salvay, while accepting the resignation of organising secretary Mrs. Williams.

Perth Visitors Stay Overnight in Bridgetown

Regular Bridgetown visitor from Perth Mr. J. H. Collett returned for a day. Mr. F. Prowse arrived from Perth on Monday. Another Perth native Mr. F. Rydings chose to base at the Bridgetown Hotel for his stay.
