Farmers' President Speaks on Super Requirements
In the Bunbury zone 90 000 tons would be required and Picton Works would raise to 60 000 tons annually but 30 000 tons still needed from metropolitan plants. Mr Noakes says farmers must obtain adequate super supplies. Albany plant could ease the issue though years of difficulty remain. Rail versus road freights remain a sore point and a government proposal could help farmers meet the cost gap. Some fear cash payments limit concessions, but proper arrangements with distributors can avoid loss of 1s per ton.
