Nelson Football Association clarified an umpire complaint ruling after Widdeson reported a player late. A city league letter states umpires must report offenses to the controlling body within three days, even without notifying the player, and the report is valid if made within the period.
Officials brought in F Faithfull of Bridgetown to umpire after Widdeson failed to attend. Spectators and players clashed, threats to the dressing room and river were halted by teammates. Both teams criticized the officiating, yet Balingap club praised Faithfull for standing in.
The fi.8.L. Ball set for July 11 aims for an improved event with strong management and a promise of a pleasant evening. A bumper crowd has already indicated its intention to attend.
The Repatriation Committee, an officially recognised voluntary body, prepares to offer and render advice and aid without departmental administration. Composed of local men, its ethos is do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Servicemen could benefit from its services if aware of its existence. Residents look forward to its reformation and district ties.
Mr. Alex Evans of the Pemberton Golf Club holed out in one on the 265 yard No 1 green last Sunday. He and his partner were elated by the feat and rumors say a display may be staged this weekend.
The Greenbushes Road Board gave Neddy a veterinary checkup after health issues. Vets found poor chaff, vitamin deficiency, and the need for dental, pedicure, and hoofcare work. A final report said the beast is dying as well as can be expected.
Death of well known Nannup resident Mr W C Colledge occurred last Sunday after a long illness. He came from Canning Bridge and had lived in Nannup for two years. His craftsmanship was much admired. The funeral was held Monday afternoon at the Church of Mogland portion of the Nannup cemetery with Rey Ll C Lawson officiating at the graveside.
Club delegates to the Nelson Football Association met at the Bridge town Hotel for their monthly session. They arranged the next fixtures against the Donnybrook Association and discussed timing, the gong, and umpire duties with timekeeper and central umpire responsibilities clarified.
Miss L Hester and Mr F Yull won the 18 holes Morning Handicap at Balingup last Sunday. Hester secured top honors in a close contest with Yull as the paired winner meeting the conditions of the event.
The Grand National Hurdle is set for Flemington on Saturday with Advocate tips highlighting Budunda Boondale on Colebrook. Betting and form discussions frame the event as a key hurdle race for local racing fans.
Road Board secretary E. C. Siggins explains at the stock yard meeting that ratepayers and voting rolls differ. Bridgetown defeated Jardee 6 to 1 at the home ground on Saturday. Bridgetown forwards surged forward creating pace while Jardee could not halt the fast attack. the final tally shows six goals for Bridgetown and one for Jardee.
Clancy Meldrum and Widdup lead a Bridgetown bound bus for visiting players and officials. The team playing at Bridgetown must be Striyupped read at base p m. Lunch for the visiting team will be supplied by the local association at the Stridgetown Hotel.
