Visit of School Children to Bridgetown
Sixty pupils from Slorowa toured the South West on Tuesday visiting Bridgetown. They were met by multiple car owners and were shown orchards dairying and beauty spots. The WA provided tea at the hall and the road board offered entertainment. The CWA and road board were thanked for support.

The Brage town sub-branch of RSS.LL. held its annual meeting with I.E. Smith presiding. Auditors reported a net profit and over £600 in funds. Membership stood at 61 in 1934 and 60 in 1988. The group mourned Geo Cox and reported members joining the army. Elections appointed T. E. Bolton as president and a slate of officers. The sub-branch aided Defence Bridgetown and conducted 484 poppies last November 11.

Manjimup Fire Destroys Home. Two Die
A severe bush fire swept toward a Manjimup home on Bridgetown road injuring resident Mr Stan Link and fatally burning Miss Eileen Maxwell. The blaze destroyed the house and content while another daughter perished in the flames. Funeral services were held at Manjimup Methodist Church with burial in the local cemetery.
