Farmers' Union notes on West Manjimup Branch meeting
The West Manjimup Branch met at Dixvale Hall on Sunday July 27 with low turnout despite growth in membership during July. Five Middlesex Branch visitors urged union actions including seeking telephone service for West Manjimup and discussed sales tax on machinery disadvantaging farmers while exemptions apply to contracting and forestry uses. The group will back Middlesex efforts and lodge a formal inquiry with the Telephone Department and the Union Personal Service Officer in Perth for guidance on farm machinery matters.
