Homebush Market Cattle and Sheep Prices Fall at Auction
At Homebush on Thursday 3600 cattle were offered with oil classes down. Good to prime beef moved from 44 to 46 per 106 pounds and 38 to 44 for yearling beef. About 38000 sheep and lambs penned with prices easing. Wethers 18s to 20s per head, ewes 18s to 28s, hoggets 4d to 5d per lb. Local sale: Reynolds and Haslingthwaite sold 48 wethers at 24s 7d, 92 at 21s 1d, 67 at 17s 10d.

The final 1928-29 wool sale series opened in market with about 23 000 bales listed over three days. Catalogue of 1336 bales offered mainly crutchings and lambs with some autumn shorn clips. Prices fell about 5 percent from May closing. crutchings and lambs met strong demand, values steady to firm. Continent and Yorkshire bought the bulk. Japan buyers were limited. No further sales at this centre until September 6.
